The lesbians couple and two kids who were bound and had their throats slashed in upstate New York home outside of Albany have been identified.
Shanta Myers, 36, and her 22-year-old lover, Brandi Mells, were found dead inside the apartment where they had been living in Troy, outside Albany
The bodies of Myers’ two children, Shanise Myers, 5, and Jeremiah Myers, 11, were also discovered inside the home.
Myers had another son but he wasn’t available at the time of the grisly murders.
Police Chief James Tedesco described the slayings as an act of “savagery.”
“After being in this business for nearly 42 years, I can say I have not seen savagery like this,” the Troy Record reported the local police chief as saying. “Only a person of savagery would do something like this.”
He was speaking after the four were found murdered inside a basement apartment the day after Christmas (Boxing Day).
A property manager found the bodies on Tuesday after being asked to check on the welfare of the residents of the 158 2nd Ave apartment, one of five in a house located in the city’s Lansingburgh section along the Hudson River just north of Albany, police said.
This wasn’t a random act. The police are yet to establish when the slaying occurred but hoped that the autopsies conducted provides the needed information.
Investigators still remain at the scene and justice would definitely be gotten for the slain family.
