Nick Carter Denies Raping Ex-Dream Singer, Melissa Schuman, Saying Sex Was Consensual

Nick Carter has come out to deny the allegations against him by Melissa Schuman who accused him of raping her in 2002 saying the sex was consensual.

In a statement,  Carter said:

“Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual. We went on to record a song and perform together, and I was always respectful and supportive of Melissa both personally and professionally.

“This is the first that I am hearing about these accusations, nearly two decades later.

“It is contrary to my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm.”

This was all detailed in Melissa’s blog post, of the alleged attack, when she was 18 and Nick was 22.

Schuman said this all happened when Carter invited her over to his Santa Monica home for a ‘casual hangout’.

Under the pretext of showing her his new music for her to listen to,  he took advantage of her vulnerability and forcefully slept with her.

Schuman says she was traumatized and lost interest in the music industry.

Now, 15 years later, she decided to come forward after trolls targeted a female fan who claimed Carter had forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2006.

“Victim shaming is a core reason why victims don’t speak out,” she added
